Spring semester - Founded by long-time Harvard Sailing Coach and Harvard and Intercollegiate Sailing Association Hall of Famer Mike Horn, the ICS sailing team is one of the top competitive sailing programs in the State, winning two State Championships in the past 8 years. ICS sailors have gone on to sail for some of the top college sailing teams in the country, including Georgetown and Yale. Some sailing experience is required. Sailing practices are held in Rockland Harbor at the Apprentice Shop Boat Building School.

Fall semester - Fall sailing is available as a club sport. Varsity sailors are encouraged to participate as conditioning for spring sailing. The water is warm, and it's also a great time to learn sailing if you have an interest. https://www.apprenticeshop.org/youth-sailing.

Cost is not an issue. Big Tree Boating and the Apprentice Shop have scholarships that are available. We can also help with drysuit rentals. Booties or crocks would be required.

ICS co-ed cross country teams compete in the fall every season. All are welcome.

ICS competes in the Maine Principal’s Association Class D soccer league. The team is co-ed, and all are welcome.

Club soccer is available in the spring.

The town of Islesboro has a long-standing passion for basketball, and both boys and girls high-school teams routinely make the playoffs. All are welcome.

The ICS track team competes at meets around the state during the spring semester. All are welcome.

Indoor track is available in the winter as a club or individual sport if there is interest.

ICS fields a competitive golf team when there is interest. The golf team practices on-island at the Tarratine Golf Club.
